Rebecca Towne Nurse (or Nourse) (February 21, 1621 – July 19, 1692) was executed for witchcraft by the government of the Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England in 1692, during the Salem witch trials. She was the wife of Francis Nurse, a mother of several children and grandchildren, and a well-respected member of the community. Although there was no credible evidence against her, she was hanged as a witch on July 19, 1692. This occurred during a time when the Massachusetts colony was seized with hysteria over witchcraft and the supposed presence of Satan within the colony.

A skilled nursing facility is a location dedicated to the care of individuals in a residential facility, usually there on a long-term basis. These facilities specialize in the 24-hour care and observation of individuals whose needs are usually critical enough where they need constant watching, but not serious enough where hospitalization is required.
A skilled nursing facility may often be called a nursing home by some people. They are often called that because nurses, of varying degrees and certifications, take on the bulk of the patient care work. They carry out this care by working closely with a patient’s team of personal doctors, following those physicians’ directions and holding consultations as necessary. Doctors also make visits, in some cases, to skilled nursing facilities to provide check-up examinations.

School: Nurse Anesthetists have been practicing medicine now over the last 150 years. They are one of the first specializations in modern medicine. This is to prepare you for dealing with situations where you will be under pressure. After completing this, you will be eligible to apply to an accredited anesthesia program. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is another one of those degrees that looks great at first glance, with a nice starting salary: the average starting pay is $52,700, which is in the top 20 of average starting salaries. A great choice, right? But by mid-career, most nurses will cap out at a salary not much higher than what they began with. The average mid-career income is $68,200, less than $16,000 more than the starting pay.

What is travel nursing?
Travel nursing is a career choice that allows you to take short-term positions across the country. As a licensed nurse in time with a big nursing shortage you are in demand. Hospitals and clinics are willing to pay top dollar for nurses to fill in for short periods.
These nursing positions usually span 3 months to a year. Depending on the duration and distance from your home, the employer will often supply housing, or alternatively, a housing subsidy.
Are these stable nursing jobs?
Some travel nursing jobs are meant to span just a short period where a full-time nurse has left and a replacement has not yet been found. However, a lot of hospitals will try to recruit a traveling nurse into a full-time position if they are happy with performance.

Job Description
Although they are not trained to perform the responsibilities of a doctor, they work as a step above a registered nurse. They have nursing training and experience in their background and have achieved the next level required to act in this role. A nurse practitioner assists with performing physical exams, meeting with patients to diagnose conditions, or being the first line of defense for doctors in an office.

A nurse uniform is attire worn by nurses for hygiene and identification. The traditional nurse uniform consists of a dress, apron and cap. It has existed in many variants, but the basic style has remained recognizable.
Standard nurse’s uniform
Historically, a typical nurse uniform consisted of a dress, pinafore apron and nurse’s cap. In some hospitals, however, student nurses also wore a nursing pin, or the pinafore apron may have been replaced by a cobbler style apron. This type of nurse’s dress continues to be worn in many countries.
History
The first nurse uniforms were derived from the nun’s habit. Before the 19th century, nuns took care of sick and injured people so it was obvious that trained lay nurses might copy the nun’s habit as they have adopted ranks like “Sister”. One of Florence Nightingale’s first students (Miss VanRensselaer) designed the original uniform for the students at Miss Nightingale’s school of nursing. Before the 1940s minor changes occurred in the uniform.
The clothing consisted of a mainly blue outfit. Hospitals were free to determine the style of the nurse uniform, including the nurse’s cap which exists in many variants.[1] In Britain, the national uniform (or simply “national”) was designed with the advent of the National Health Service (NHS) in 1948, and the Newcastle dress.
From the 1960s open necks began to appear. In the 1970s, white disposable paper caps replaced cotton ones; in the 1980s, plastic aprons displaced the traditional ones and outerwear began to disappear.From the 1990s, scrubs became popular in Britain, having first appeared in the USA; however, a majority of nurses in Britain continue to wear dresses, as in many other countries.

Nurses are traditionally and predominantly female; of the 2.1 million registered nurses in the United States, for example, only 5.4% are men. Men also make up only 13% of all new nursing students.
During plagues that swept through Europe, male nurses were primary caregivers, and in the 3rd century men in the Parabolani created a hospital and provided nursing care. It has been asserted, without proof, that the brotherhood was first organized during the great plague in Alexandrian episcopate of Dionysius the Great (second half of 3rd century).
They received their name from the fact that they risked their lives (paraballesthai ten zoen) in exposing themselves to contagious diseases. In addition, they constituted a bodyguard for the bishop. Their number was never large. The Codex Theodosianus of 416 (xvi, 2, 42) restricted the enrollment in Alexandria to 500.
There were numerous other nurses that were male throughout the Middle Ages. St. Benedict started the Benedictine nursing order. The Alexian Brothers, in the 14th century, provided nursing care for the victims of the Black Death. These two organizations are still in existence today.
